The Jackson Heights Educational Foundation has been awarded a $4,420 grant to support the media production class at Jackson Heights High School. The grant was provided by Kansas Gas Service, a Division of ONEOK, Inc. The funds will help purchase a broadcasting camera, video tripod, and additional desktop computers. The media production class has just completed its first year here. Among the program’s accomplishments have been live broadcasts of home sporting events streamlined on CobraTV, taped music concerts, and creating DVDs of high school graduation for the public. Margaret Steele of Kansas Gas Service Community Relations, presented the check May 15 to Vern Andrews, technology director, and Heather Amon, Educational Foundation vice president.
